Delivering wholefoods since 1982
Sesame was first established in 1982 and has been ticking over at a steady pace since. It has recently been taken over by Robert Mercer and Eric Jenkin.
Both of us are very much looking forward to running Sesame and meeting the current customers, as well as welcoming new ones. We aim to improve the service by offering more frequent deliveries and intend to expand the business without losing the friendly and personal approach that has been built up over the years.
Products
Not only will Sesame be continuing with the current selection of wholefoods and organics (over 1200 products) but we will be looking for new, worthwhile and interesting products to add to the already healthy choice. This will include a range of delicious locally sourced products.
We are always interested in finding out about new products so please contact us if you make or know of anything you think might be of interest to us or would like to be available through ourselves.
Local Produce and Economy
Having both been born in Norfolk, we share a passion for locally produced fare. Using locally produced goods is without a doubt the biggest change we will be making to Sesame and the one that we are most excited about.
Thus we will be tirelessly tracking down the best that East Anglia has to offer from the vast selection of top quality local produce available. Everything from soap to sausages and eggs to ice cream.
Keep your ears pricked up and your eyes on the site and we will let you all know as soon these products become available. It may be sooner than you think!
Ethics and the Environment
We enjoy world we live in and the Flora and Fauna that we share it with. We hope that future generations will be able to enjoy it too and we do our best to help ensure that this is the case.
Hence, in everything we do, we make every realistic attempt not to harm the environment.
What Comes In
All the paper that we use, from business cards to the kitchen roll we mop up our spilt coffee with, is either from managed and renewable resources or has been recycled.
The vans that we use to deliver your goods and pick up supplies run on Bio-Diesel made from used rapeseed oil. This is much less harmful to the environment both in supply of raw materials/production and emissions when compared to traditional fossil fuels and Bio-Fuels using oil from dedicated crops.
All of our suppliers are chosen with careful consideration given to their views and practices in relation to the environment and ethics and we strive to only be affiliated with likeminded businesses.
